Massage Therapy

Sports Massage

Whether you are training for a marathon or recovering from a weekend match, our specialist sports therapists will get you back to your best, faster.

About This Treatment

Train hard. Recover smarter.

Sports massage is a specialised therapy designed for athletes and active individuals. Using deep tissue work, compression, stretching and trigger point therapy, our therapists address the specific demands that training places on your body, from clearing lactic acid build-up after intense sessions to identifying muscle imbalances before they cause injury.

Post-event massage helps accelerate the removal of metabolic waste from muscle tissue, reducing delayed onset muscle soreness and getting you back to training sooner. Regular maintenance sessions keep your body functioning at its best through even the heaviest training blocks.

You do not need to be a professional athlete. If you run, cycle, play sport or simply lead an active life, sports massage can make a real difference to how your body feels and performs.

FAQ

Sports massage, your questions answered

Should I book before or after exercise?

Both have merit. Pre-event massage (typically lighter and shorter) prepares muscles and improves circulation before activity. Post-event massage aids recovery and reduces soreness. For regular maintenance, we'd recommend 48–72 hours after intense training so your body has begun its natural recovery process.

How often should I get a sports massage?

For regular training, monthly sessions are a good baseline. During heavy training blocks or race preparation, fortnightly or even weekly sessions can be beneficial. Your therapist will advise you on the right frequency for your training load and goals.

What should I wear?

Sports shorts are ideal for lower body work. For upper body treatment, you'll be undraped in the areas being treated. Our therapists are fully professional and trained in client comfort and dignity throughout.

Is sports massage only for professional athletes?

Not at all. Sports massage is for anyone who is physically active, runners, cyclists, gym-goers, weekend footballers, yoga practitioners, and more. If your body is working hard, it deserves proper care.
