Common Conditions

One of the most common reasons people come to us. Whether it is a dull ache from long hours at a desk, acute lower back pain, or chronic tightness that flares up regularly, massage and osteopathy both deliver excellent results.
Neck pain that radiates into the shoulders or causes headaches is usually rooted in tight suboccipital muscles and poor posture. Deep tissue work targeting the cervical spine and upper back, combined with osteopathic assessment, addresses the cause rather than just the symptom.
Pain, tingling, or numbness that runs from the lower back through the buttock and down the leg. Often caused by piriformis tightness or lumbar disc involvement. Osteopathy is particularly effective for structural causes; deep tissue massage addresses the muscular component.
Hamstring strains, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff issues, runner's knee: sports massage and osteopathy are both evidence-based approaches for sports injury rehabilitation. Our team works regularly with recreational and competitive athletes.
Forward head posture, rounded shoulders, anterior pelvic tilt. The cumulative effect of long hours at a desk. Left untreated, postural imbalances cause chronic pain. Our therapists address both the tight muscles that pull the body out of alignment and the structural component.
Physical tension is one of the primary ways stress manifests in the body. Swedish massage activates the parasympathetic nervous system, measurably lowering cortisol and improving sleep quality. CBD massage adds an extra anti-inflammatory and calming layer for those who carry significant stress in their body.
Swelling in the legs and ankles, puffiness, lymphoedema, or post-surgical oedema. Manual lymphatic drainage is one of the primary treatment methods for these conditions and is widely recommended in clinical settings for post-operative recovery.
Back pain, pelvic girdle pain, and leg swelling are common during pregnancy. Osteopathy is safe and effective throughout pregnancy when provided by a qualified practitioner. Lymphatic drainage can also help with the fluid retention that frequently develops in the third trimester.
A structural and circulatory concern rather than a weight issue. Anti-cellulite massage combines lymphatic drainage with myofascial techniques to reduce the appearance of cellulite, improve skin tone, and restore circulation to problem areas.
Sleep difficulties are often linked to elevated cortisol, an overactive nervous system, or chronic physical tension that prevents the body from fully relaxing. Regular Swedish massage measurably increases serotonin (a melatonin precursor) and helps restore healthy sleep chemistry.

FAQ
Use the guide above as a starting point, then get in touch if you are unsure. We do not expect you to know the difference between deep tissue and myofascial release. That is our job. Tell us your symptoms, how long you have had them, and what you have tried before, and we will give you an honest recommendation with no obligation to book.
For acute conditions, many clients notice meaningful improvement within one to three sessions. Chronic conditions that have built up over months or years typically require a course of treatment, usually four to six sessions, before significant change becomes sustained. Your therapist will give you a realistic picture after assessing you in your first appointment.
No. You can book directly without a referral for any of our treatments. Our osteopaths and therapists will carry out their own assessment at your first appointment. For complex or uncertain presentations, they will advise you if they feel a GP consultation would be beneficial alongside treatment.
Yes. Our osteopaths in particular are accustomed to working as part of a wider care team. If you are already seeing a physiotherapist, GP, or consultant, your treatment with us can complement that care. Let us know when booking and we will factor it in.
